WHY DO YOU NEED BABYREADING.ORG

You may wonder about the added benefits of reading aloud to your baby. An infant doesn't understand everything you're doing or why. But you wouldn't wait until your child could completely understand what you were saying before you started speaking to him or her, right? And you wouldn't ignore lullabies until your baby could sing a tune or wait until he or she could shake a rattle before you offered any toys.

Reading aloud to your baby is a wonderful traditional activity that you can continue for years to come — and it's an important foundation for teaching your baby to read.

Reading Aloud:

  •  Teaches a baby about how to communicate
  •  Introduces basic concepts of stories, colors, shapes, in an exciting way
  •  Builds strong listenting, memory, and unique vocabulary skills
  •  Teaches babies about real world around them

  Baby Reading Tips

It is never to late to begin to read to your baby. The more time that you spend reading to your young child the easier it will be for them to be a lifetime reader.
