Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) March 17, 2009

Now that the country is in a recession and there are new reports of layoffs each day, parents are growing concerned about what the future holds for their children. Intellectual Baby, LLC is now announcing their new line of products that help parents to teach their children to read at a very young age to give them the best chances of succeeding in a more competitive world.

Recognizing the concern that parents have for their children’s future in a recession, Krista Guerrero encourages parents to make sure their children learn how to read in order to give them a lifetime advantage over their peers. Inspired by the classic book, How to Teach Your Baby to Read by Glenn Doman, she has now developed her own products for teaching children to read.

Intellectual Baby, LLC offers a variety of products that all focus on helping parents teach their babies how to read. This includes DVDs, flash cards, toys, games, and of course the book that inspired the site, How To Teach Your Baby to Read. “With the country’s growing economic problems and budget cuts, parents need to take steps to prepare their children for school, beginning shortly after birth,” said Krista.

About Intellectual Baby, LLC:

Intellectual Baby, LLC was founded by Krista Guerrero, in Florida to produce and distribute educational products for infants. Currently the company offers a wide line of products such as DVDs, flash cards, toys, books, and more. Krista successfully taught two of her six children to read as infants. Having taught children to read for many years, she discovered that infants learned to read at a faster pace than the older children. One of the books which were a large influence on her was How To Teach Your Baby To Read by Glenn and Janet Doman.

As a parent, it is likely that you frequently find yourself repeating yes and no to your baby, hoping to teach them and help them understand things that they should be doing and things they should not. American Sign Language can help you to communicate yes and no to your baby more easily (even from across a room) and also help them to better understand you.

To sign no, your pointer and middle finger should snap down on your thumb. To sign yes, shake your fist up and down as if nodding your head. It is also very important to remember to use facial expressions when signing, since sign language is such a visual language. When signing no, it would be most effective to make an angrier or firm face. On the other hand, when signing yes, it would be best to smile and make a happier, more supportive face.

I have found a book that I think would be especially useful for you to read and sign to your baby. It is titled No No Yes Yes by Leslie Patricelli. The only words in the book are yes and no. There is a picture on each page of a baby doing something wrong, and doing something right on the opposite page. For example, one page shows a baby dumping a bowl on his head and “no, no” is written above it. The next page shows a baby eating out of a bowl and the words “yes, yes” is written above it. This is a very visual book on its own, and adding signs will make it even more visual and easier for your baby to understand.

Remember to keep in mind that it is not necessarily important for your child to be able to sign the words, but most important that parents sign them regularly. This will ensure that the child will recognize and understand the signs and know if they are doing something right or wrong.

Remember, I have a Free Video that Reveals my #1 Secret to Drastically Reducing Baby’s Crying and Temper Tantrums at http://www.babysignlanguageonline.com.

Include Your Child From the Beginning

Include your child in the new baby’s arrival from the very beginning. Tell him or her that they are about to become a big brother or sister. Be sure to express to your child how important his role in the family will be and the benefits that this will have. Assure your child that you will love him just as much as always and that the new baby will be someone else who will love him too. Teach him that he will be loved more than before. Allow him to help with making decisions regarding the baby. Even a two year old will appreciate being included and helping in the decision making process. For example take him shopping with you to buy punk rock baby gifts, let him choose between two choices which he thinks the new baby will like the best.

Let him help decorate the nursery

Even if that help is confined to putting small objects on a low shelf let him help. Perhaps you can allow him to pick out a special toy for the baby that is from his big brother or sister. Another option may be giving your older child a new toy and explain that the new gift is from the baby. As your pregnancy progresses allow him to feel the baby move, answer his questions and read him books so he understands that the reason mother’s body is changing is because of the baby.

Make Your Child Feel Special and Needed

Any young child is bound to feel a bit jealous when they see all the new things that the baby is getting like punk baby clothes from showers. Having a completely separate big brother or sister celebrations where you suggest that your friends bring a small gift for your older child can combat this feeling. Offering a gift or two just because he has a new role in the family will go a long way in helping make your first born fit into his new role.

Show You Child the Hospital Nursery

If at all possible arrange with the hospital staff to take your child on a tour of the delivery room and nursery. Expressing that this will be where your new brother or sister will stay until arriving home. Tell him or her that you need them to keep dad company until your return, so they will feel like they are helping at this very special time. If you want your child to really look forward to the new baby coming home then give your child a little talk that everything is going to be just fine. Continuing to include them once the baby is born will make for an easier adjustment for both you and your first born.
