How about…making some new flashcards and then trying it? Oh, and take away the bloody chocolate buttons and then see how much she cares about your damn cards!

  2. shazamom says:

this little girl can now read, speak and write the same as a 4 year old – not bad for a mom who knows nothing about babies eh????? Good on you – she is mega smart and loving!!!

  3. cris270916 says:

This is nothing, she is a wonderful girl but this is not amazing, all babies can recognize words, you have put too much effort in something useless for her. she is not learning how to read but how to get attention from you in not a very healthy way. you should read more about babies

  11. kefflam says:

She’ll go into the Scottish school system, not be challenged or worse have to teach, sorry help, the other kids.

Then by the time she’s 12, she’ll be a pleb like the rest of them.

  12. andyjimbo2006 says:

Well I learned to read when 33. Do I get a sweety too?

  13. gigiliz says:

I am glad these parents spend time with their kid.. but I have to say – my daughter was reading prior to 18 months old and I did not have to give her candy to do it.. she just did it.. I would read and I would ask her to read ad she did… I am not sure rewarding her with sweets is the best encouragement… but at least they are doing something… some parents don’t do anything with their kids… I hope she grows up with a love of reading and a appreciation for her parents…

He brought her to his house, tourtered her, and starved her to death. There is positive interaction here between a child and her parents however by using food as a reward, it seems more like they are training their dog. As SlimBeany says, “she remembers what it looks like.” At the same age, my kids could do that with the books I repeatedly read to them. Still, kudos to the parents for involving their child in reading. Too many kids don’t get that kind of attention. That’s why “Johnny can’t read.”
