  1. Sure it rhymes, but it was so small a child would not find it stimulating (tiny drawings). Mostly, it just referred to other Seuss books, without telling a story or anything. If you are going to read to a baby in the womb, you have a captive audience. Why not read Shakespeare, Milton or something more educational?

  3. Not too great for a toddler!!! When I first ordered this book, I thought it was the original one, not one that was to be read in utero. I was also suprised at how tiny the book was.

I got this book AFTER my daughter was born, so I never actually got the chance to read it to her while she was still in the womb. I recently started to read this book to my daughter a few months ago, she was a little over 1 year.

She dosen’t seem to enjoy it very much and I think the book is way too long to hold her interest. I also think some of the language and rhyming is a little hard for her to grasp.

My recommendation is that if you want to purchase this book, do it while your baby is in utero and read it to him/her until the birth. After the birth, get the original version.

  4. I bought this to read to my baby in Utero. I didn’t read each day but tried to read to the baby a few times a week. My baby daughter is now 7 months old, I haven’t read this to her in a very long time but when she was a tiny baby and she was fussy I’d read it to her, it seemed to calm her down and at times would put her to sleep. I’m hoping that me reading this to her in Utero is the reason it calmed her.

I have found that I don’t care for Dr Suess as much as I thought I did as a kid, his wording is complicated. I bought several other books and am disappointed in them.

  5. I love The Places You’ll Go! and when I saw this book, I grabbed it for my daughter in law. I believe reading to a child is one of the most important things that can be done to prepare them for what lies ahead. What a great way to begin, while still in Utero. The sound of a familar voice and the beginning of a special time between child and parent (or grandparen’t, sibling, etc.) that will hopefully continue through their life. I don’t always care for Dr. Seuss, but this is a book that speaks from the heart. The book is smaller than most, but then it’s for in Utero!
