How to Choose the Best Possible Deals From Baby Coupons

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

Babies need a lot of caring and items to look after them. Since these many items can usually add up to a large amount of money that you need to spend you may want to see if you can find any baby coupons. These coupons will range from the small items like baby teething rings sometimes to large items like baby carriers.

You will find these offers at various stores and sometimes on the web sites of various stores. When you find any baby coupons, you should see if they are for items that you can use. You will also need to see if you are able to use those coupons. In other words are you choosing products from coupons that are no longer valid?

The best way not to get caught to this problem is to read all of the details and information that is given on the baby coupons. In this manner you can choose the best possible deals from the coupons and be assured that you are using quality and valid coupons. This is especially important when you are looking into buying food and baby skin and health products.

As these products are used directly to nourish or care for your baby it is best to buy products that are fairly new and fresh. Sometimes when you are looking to buy products with baby coupons you can get a 2 for 1 deal or buy 3 items and you get a fourth item for free.

These are just a few of the interesting deals that you can get when you are checking out the many different baby coupons that are available. By collecting different coupons from a number of different stores that you frequently visit you can enhance your chances of selecting quality products for low prices. This manner of shopping will also give you the ability to look for in store coupons that you can use.

Looking at the many types of baby coupons will give you a good idea of the various discounts that you can get for these products that you constantly need. You can sometimes find partner stores that will allow you to buy baby products from their stores while you are using baby coupons from another store.

The use of baby coupons as you see are of great help to the much beleaguered parents who want to provide the best for their infant while they cope with their usual monthly budget needs. With baby coupons you will find many of the products that you need for your baby’s everyday care and love.

Why You Should Choose Baby Clothes Made From Organic Cotton

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

If you are doing your best to raise a healthy baby then good for you! Babies are life’s most precious gift and should be taken care of accordingly. That is why you should research the advantages of organic cotton for your baby’s clothes instead of the conventional cotton. Read on to discover the major differences between conventional cotton and organic cotton.
Conventional cotton is the one of the most pesticide laden crops in the world. Only coffee surpasses cotton in the amount of pesticides used. Conventional cotton farming involves the use of very heavy spraying of pesticides and herbicides, but it doesn’t stop there. Once the cotton is turned into fabric, chlorine bleach is used to give it a clean white color. Then formaldehyde is applied as a finisher. Here is a scary statistic: Approximately 1/3 of a pound of chemicals is used to grow and produce just one t-shirt. So as you can see, conventional cotton is harmful to the environment and to the people that wear the clothing made from conventional cotton.
The process of growing organic cotton is totally different. There are no chemicals used to grow organic cotton. The fields are fertilized naturally and the weeds are removed with hoes, tractors or by hand. Pests are controlled by the use of specific pest eating insects. Organic cotton crops have earned the label of organic by using soil that has been free of pesticides for three consecutive years. Organic cotton farming will use chili, garlic, tree tea oil and other natural substances in their farming process.
Another great benefit of organic cotton compared to conventional cotton is that organically grown cotton has the ability to “breathe” a lot better. This will allow for moisture to evaporate. Baby clothing or bedding that has been manufactured with conventional cotton fabric will trap moisture next to baby’s skin which can cause a rash. Many babies have sensitive skin so providing them with more breathable clothing is a simple and effective way for parents to minimize skin irritation.
Clothing made from organic cotton will last much longer than clothing made from conventional cotton. The fibers of organic cotton are much stronger and thicker than the conventional cotton. Conventional cotton fibers have been weakened by the chemicals and bleaching process.
Organic cotton baby clothes can be found in various baby boutiques across the country. As the popularity of organic clothing increases, organic baby clothes will become easier to find. But if you do not have a baby boutique in your area that sells clothes made from organic cotton, do a search online. You will be able to find a ton of places that sell organic baby clothes.
Most parents want the best for their babies. The clothes we choose are part of that. If you are wanting the best for your baby, consider buying baby clothes made from organic cotton. You’ll feel better knowing that you’re not only doing the best for your baby but for the environment as well, all by making this one simple change.

Fetal Baby Doppler -faq’s How to Listen to Your Unborn Baby From 10-12 Weeks

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

How does the Doppler work ?

The Doppler listens to the reflections of small, high frequency sound waves that are reflected from within the womb. These sound waves are picked up by the probe and amplified through the hand held speaker so that you can hear them clearly. There are a variety of sounds that can be heard, including the fetal heart beat/tone, each of which is distinctive and so are easily identified. You can hear kicks and hiccups when your baby grows larger. Sounds can generally be heard from 10-12 weeks of your pregnancy.

Is the Doppler safe ?

All the Fetal Doppler’s available through reputable internet stores are the same, or use the same technology as the Doppler’s used by your midwife or doctor during your examinations throughout your pregnancy. Ultrasound technology has been used for many years without any adverse effect on either the foetus or mother.

Fetal Doppler’s have an incredible safety record. They have been used daily for the last thirty years around the world. It is estimated around five million are in use every single day. No adverse effects to either mother or baby have ever been reported.

Please do not confuse Doppler’s with ultrasound scanners used in a hospital to show images of your baby. Our Doppler’s use ultrasound in an extremely low power output. This is why they are run on a household battery alone.

What if I can’t find the heartbeat ?

Finding the heartbeat can be daunting at first as your baby may be lower than you expect. Make sure you have used a generous amount of coupling gel and position the probe low down on your abdomen. If you do not hear any sound at first, move the probe slowly until you pick up the heartbeat. The fetal heart beat sounds like a galloping horse and is very fast at 120-160 beats per minute. If you still have difficulty then refer to the leaflet enclosed with your Doppler.

How can I tell it’s not my heartbeat I can hear?

The sound of the fetal heartbeat is distinctive, but can often be confused with other sounds at first. You may well have heard it already during your antenatal appointments with your midwife or doctor. It is a regular fast beating sound, not to be confused with the swishing sound of the placenta.

- A roaring sound, like waves on a beach, is the sound of your placenta.

- A ‘whooshing’ noise is the sound of the blood supply to the placenta.

- Your own pulse! Don’t forget that your baby’s heartbeat is about twice as fast as this.

- A pulse that is more high-pitched than your baby’s heartbeat, but at the same speed. This is the pulse through the umbilical cord; a very pregnant and reassuring noise !

How many heartbeats per minute will I hear ?

The fetal heartbeat is much faster than your own and is usually between 120 and 160 beats per minute. However, the heartbeat is not likely to remain constant and will vary depending on the time of day and amount of activity. The readings from the Doppler should not be used for self-diagnosis as any interpretation is complicated and requires detailed medical training.

Do I need a special lotion or ultrasound gel ?

The probe on your fetal doppler needs a dense liquid to pick up the sound waves from the womb. The coupling gel that is provided with your Doppler is to be used to ensure the high quality and clarity of the sounds you can hear.

Doppler Tips

- A very easy way to find the heartbeat is to take your Doppler with you to your next prenatal appointment. Your OB or midwife can help you locate your baby’s heartbeat and provide you with helpful doppler tips.

- A full bladder may help, especially in early pregnancy.

- Early in pregnancy, start your fetal doppler in line with the belly button right above the pubic hair. As pregnancy progresses, your fetal doppler will find the heartbeat higher up the abdomen.

- Move the doppler probe VERY slowly – it is quite easy to go over the heartbeat. Also, if you move the probe too fast it may cause interference noise.

- Tilt the doppler probe downward toward the pubic bone.

- Be sure to use plenty of Doppler gel. If you run out of gel, you can buy additional doppler gel from us.

- The baby is normally positioned far deeper in the pelvis than you would imagine.

- Do not panic if you do not pick up the heartbeat immediately, some days you will it and other days the baby may be in hiding.

Do You Learn More From Failure or Success?

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Do You Learn More From Failure or Success?

Do you agree with these scientific statements?

of our subconscious mind?

Inquiring Minds Want to Know

Number 1: (false) we are aware of making decisions only 5% of the time.

Number 2: (true) our behaviors and decisions are 95% on autopilot.

Number 3: (false) brain cells learn from doing something right, and not

from our mistakes.

So What?

Professor Earl K Miller at MIT, in an article July 30, 2009 in the journal Neuron:

Our brain cells have a file cabinet for our decisions with one side for Right actions, and a different feedback loop for Wrong ones.

After a failure, there is no change in the cells. Get this. Failure produces no improvement in human behavior. When we produce a successful behavior there is

neuroplasticity (physical change) in the cells. Neuroplasticity is your brain’s ability

to change (adaptation) in response to your new experiences.

Key Point: Success leads to additional successes because brain processing and

behaviors improve. You are cued to perform better the next time.

Two Brain Structures For Learning

Giving a reward (pat on the back, big smile, or a checkmark or gold star) after success registers in your Prefrontal Cortex (learning, memory, thinking), and

your Basal Ganglia (motor controls, cognition and emotions). Both are wired

to work together.

After a reward for a correct response, neurons in PFC and BG are stronger,

and supply more information because of improved electrical impulses fired.

If you were incorrect in the prior trial, you are weaker and more likely to fail again.

Double So What

We can affect adult learning by rewarding and tracking career behavior.

Homo sapiens require reinforcement to improve. Yes, it applies to teaching

children from first grade to graduate school.

How can you wire yourself for self-improvement? Condition (program) your mind

to expect rewards for correct results. There has to be a payoff or there is no improvement.

Your Prefrontal Cortex and Basal Ganglia are involved in obtaining internal goals.

They are the two key players in learning and long-term memory for kids and adults.

Trial And Error

Your hippocampal neurons are involved in Associative Learning: example: matching names with faces. There is a physiological measure linking (together)

trial-and-error which strengthen Right answers, and modify Wrong responses.

Trial outcomes improve the learning process. Long term memories are laid down

in your hippocampus. The function of your hippocampus is to memorialize new facts and events, and produce new Associations about unrelated ideas, words and

concepts. It leads to Declaratory Memory.

Google: Wendy Suzuki, NYU in March 26 Neuron journal. N.B. The more Trial

Outcomes (practice, rehearsal) the more you stimulate the neural networks for future successes.

Associative Memory

When you learn to LINK new, unknown ideas, words and concepts, with old consolidated long-term memory, your associations create learning. Example:

if you already know it requires 21 consecutive days of practice to create a

habit, relating that fact to the information, 21% of room air is oxygen is baby-easy.

You are hardwired for Associations. When you hear the term “up”, your brain responds with “down”, and when someone says Red for stop, you associate that with Green to go, without any conscious thought, right?

Your Memory

Human memory relies up to 90% on Associations and concepts we automatically

link together in our mind. Wait. Your brain thinks in pictures and mental movies,

and remembers in associations and links.

To improve your memory – ask yourself – what does this new word or concept remind me of that I already know? Link the new with the old, and you create

and strengthen connected synapses into neural networks.

If I need to recall the five nucleotides of the DNA/RNA of the genome:

a)      adenine

b)      guanine

c)      cytosine

d)      uracil

e)      thymine

Associate adenine with Add+Nine; Gain+Nine;  Sight+Sign; U+R+Sill; and

Thigh-Mine.

These five are linked in my mind with the Acronym A-G (ony) + C-U-T.

These associations are first learned, and then strengthened by ordinary daily language experience.

Why bother with the trouble of learning what you can write down on paper

or wordprocesser and copy?

The answer is health, but only if you desire to expand your Cognitive Reserve and protect your brain throughout your life. A second reason is longevity. Lifelong

learners improve their chances of living a long, healthy life. Each time you learn

your brain changes structurally and functionally for the better.

Forex Brokers – Who Win With Them From a Brokers Point of View

Friday, May 28th, 2010

I spent 15 years as a broker on the desk trading clients and also worked in the back office, before switching to educating clients and can tell you who losses and what the minority do who win. The first point I can confirm is 95% of clients lose quickly and only a few survive to make money and from a brokers perspective this is actually good. Why because most brokers are market makers and when you lose the market doesn’t get your money, the broker does and that’s a lot of money. Do brokers care if clients win? No not at all, they just know the odds are in their favour, despite all the great services they offer, traders beat themselves. Contrary to myth brokers don’t hunt stops or do anything sneaky, they just know the odds and let the traders do as they wish. So who losses? Well here are some common groups.Forex day traders and scalpers. They blame brokers for stop hunting – but its obvious prices are random in a day and normal volatility gets them. When a day trader came in and opened an account, you put him down immediately as a loser. Forex Robot Traders and Sure Fire Methods Another great bunch of losers! They buy a robot with a simulated track record or one that can predict with scientific accuracy and then find out these trading systems are about as accurate as a horoscope and there money is soon lost. The Educated Fool I am using a title coined by trader Jake Bernstein and it’s very apt. You get a lot of these traders, they think their clever and build highly complicated systems which lose. They might be clever but there not smart and the market teaches them a lesson in manners. This group wine like babies when they lose and have huge ego’s, they cant take losing and blame everyone from the wife, to their broker. The News Story Junkie He trades every scrap of news quickly but doesn’t know the obvious fact that the market is a discounting mechanism and markets trade on the future not the present. Over Leveraged and Under Capitalized This is a huge group they put up a few hundred bucks and don’t realize leverage is a double edged sword, their gone within a few days or a few weeks. Naïve and stupid they think they can leverage up small amounts and get rich and get caught by a small move against them and blow their accounts out the water. So who won? Mostly traders who were not bright or clever but humble and disciplined and who did not over leverage. They had there own system and applied it with rigorous discipline. These traders always protected what they had and its illuminating to think the two top traders I saw were a retired lady of 83 and a long distance truck driver! These two thrashed the wiz kids, the sure fire systems and were still going strong when I left the business. So there you have it, you can learn to trade currencies and be successful – but avoid all the hype and myths you read and get yourself a good forex trading education. Be humble, protect what you have at all costs and follow your forex trading strategy with discipline and maybe you could be as successful as the retired lady and the truck driver – and trust me, if you are, you will be very rich.

From the first smile to the first haircut, you will want to treasure these photos with their own baby page. Make a counting baby scrapbook by including pictures of similar photos. Try using one baby, two babies, three girls or boys, four smiles and so forth. Embellish pages with baby stickers, die cutouts and bright, colorful numbers. Add pages and pictures throughout baby’s first year. Baby scrapbook theme albums can be used not only to preserve special moments, but also to learn numbers and counting.Animals, Animals Everywhere

Does your family have a pet? How many stuffed animals are in your baby’s room or toy room? How many times has your family visited the zoo? Savor all these animal memories by creating an animal and baby scrapbook album. Use traditional film or a digital camera, take photos of your baby with his favorite teddy bear, playing with your cat, dog or other pet, sleeping in his crib with stuffed animals and photos from your trips to the zoo. Decorate with animal stickers, appliqués and animal theme pages to create a special animal and baby scrapbook theme. All About…Me!

If you have the exquisite blessing of having twins or triplets, you will realize that each child is unique. Each baby should have its own baby scrapbook album. Create pages that set each baby apart from his sibling. Make two or three pages with similar themes for each baby scrapbook, which highlight each baby’s “firsts”, holidays, smiles, giggles, and baby’s favorite toy. When your baby becomes a toddler then a teen, he will appreciate his own baby scrapbook.

Prevent Your Children From — Early Childhood Caries (Nursing Bottle Caries)

Monday, April 26th, 2010

The term describes a dental condition which involves the rapid decay of many or all the baby teeth of an infant or child. The teeth most likely to be damaged are the upper front teeth since they are the first teeth to erupt and thus have the longest exposure time to the sugars in the feeding bottle. Baby Bottle Tooth Decay is caused by long exposure of a child’s teeth to liquid containing sugars generally when the baby falls asleep with a bottle containing milk or juice or a pacifier dipped in honey. By the time the condition is noticed by the parents it may be too late and extractions of the decayed teeth may be necessary. As a result, your child may suffer from long term disorders which include speech impediments, possible psychological damage, crooked or crowded teeth, and poor oral health.Early Childhood Caries (ECC) also known as baby bottle tooth decay or nursing bottle caries poses a grave threat to a child’s milk teeth and overall development. The term describes a dental condition which involves the rapid decay of many or all the baby teeth of an infant or child. The teeth most likely to be damaged are the upper front teeth since they are the first teeth to erupt and thus have the longest exposure time to the sugars in the feeding bottle. The lower front teeth tend to be protected by the tongue as the child sucks on the nipple of the bottle or the breast. Early Childhood Caries (Baby Bottle Tooth Decay) is caused by long exposure of a child’s teeth to liquid containing sugars generally when the baby falls asleep with a bottle containing milk or juice or a pacifier dipped in honey. The liquid pools around the front teeth. During sleep, the bacteria living in every baby’s mouth, turns the milk sugar or other sugars to acid which causes the decay.By the time the condition is noticed by the parents it may be too late and extractions of the decayed teeth may be necessary. As a result, your child may suffer from long term disorders which include speech impediments, possible psychological damage, crooked or crowded teeth, and poor oral health.A large volume of children we examine on a daily basis will fall under the category of early childhood caries hence a closer look at ECC is presented here.Causative factors:·  Use of baby bottle at nap time(day or night)·  On- demand feed ( both by bottle as well as breast feeding) especially at night.·  Use of juices or aerated drinks in the nursing bottle.·  Poor oral hygiene measures.Ramifications:* General discomfort and pain sometimes leading to swelling and fever.* Poor dietary habits as the child will prefer a soft diet. (And kids being kids most of the times this soft diet is sometimes sweet which adds to the problem).*  Sub optimal nutrition leading to poor overall growth.* May sometimes affect the developing permanent tooth underneath (the permanent tooth may get discolored, deformed, etc.)* Difficulty in acquiring speech skills in some cases.* Probability of malocclusion on premature extraction of milk teeth.Advice to parents:* The first dental examination of a child by a dentist needs to be done when the first tooth arrives in the mouth and no later than the first birthday.* Cleaning of tooth/teeth must begin as soon as the first tooth erupts.* Use of nursing bottle at nap/bed time should be stopped as early as possible.* Nursing bottle to be discarded around the first birthday (easier said than done but an effort should be done).* Using of a cup for drinking to be done.* Mid meal snacks to be avoided (for older kids).* Child must be taught the use of dental floss as early as possible.* Give plain water after a bottle of juice, milk, or formula (or when awake, sip on it for long periods of time as a pacifier). For further reading you can log on to my website – www.delhidentalcenter.com.– http://www.delhidentalcenter.com/pediatric_dentistry.phpAuthors –Dr. Amit Goswami.Dr. (Mrs.)Vandana  Goswami.
